Thrift-shop enthusiasts will be thrilled to go to Shipshewana Auction & Flea Market, usually set-up during the months of May-September. It’s a fantastic place for great bargains paired with food and a lot of interesting people. This flea market has been an attraction for over 40 years, plus, it has a diverse selection of vendors.
Buckner Park is a 13-minute drive from Dunn Mill and is considered to be a prime recreation center in the area. There’s a nice trail for hiking or running and the park also has clean water fountains.
If you are into nature trips with friends and family, visit the Lindenwood Nature Preserve. It boasts 110-acres of land with 4 hiking trails, an open-air pavilion and a pond. The Linden Nature preserve is also a perfect venue for an afternoon picnic or wildlife watching. It’s a great place to bring children to see nature. Described by many as a nicely kept park with a good walking trail. The elevated walkways are lovely, as well as the lake. There’s also a cute little bird-watching spot.
Another place to visit in Dunn Mill is the Salomon Farm Park. Donated by the Salomon family, this working farm teaches about working conditions in the 1930s. It gives off a vibe of farm atmosphere perfect for weddings or other events. The farm park also offers animals, hay rides, and tractor drives.
